Planning your business goals should be your 1st priority

Blog - Plan your business goals

Its mid May already … can someone stop the clock!  Where is 2020 disappearing to already? Before we know it, the shops will have Christmas décor being sold and Christmas songs being played! This is why it is important to STOP and have a think about where your business is going?

We are in tough times at the moment.  COVID-19 is affecting many businesses in different ways.  We have had to adapt the way we think, operate and conduct the way we live and work.

How has it affected you?

Reviewing your business and thinking about ideas on how to move forward can not only seem hard work but stressful at the same time.  We can find ourselves “Stuck in our ways” and its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Being overwhelmed can be very unproductive

As it is 1st June in two weeks and we have the three steps of COVID-19 released, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Now is the time to see where the gaps in your business lie and solve them.

Be proactive not reactive

Set realistic business goals.  Move away from making just faster decisions to faster implementation and execution! You have probably heard of SMART goals this is now FAST GOALS: Frequently discussed, Ambitious, Specific, Transparent

  • What do you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve them?
  • What are the problems that you have or have previously experienced within your business? Plan how to resolve those problems
  • Have budgets and stick to them!
  • Scaling up: Leverage the right relationships
  • Scaling up strategy; What are your strengths, weaknesses and trends?
  • Scaling up execution; What are your biggest constraints preventing you from achieving?

Having a virtual meeting with colleagues and discussing the above topics can open up many doors.  It can give you ideas and solutions that you never could or would have thought of.  As a business owner NEVER be too proud to take advice from others.   Your employees or coworkers can have ideas that could be superb suggestions.

The quality and speed of how you implement the ideas that you have is what will determine how successfully you and your company is going to be on the other side of these tough times.

We have mentioned earlier about constraints.  Some of those constraints could be the mounting paperwork!  What about who and how are we going to grow?  Who is going to get in touch with our database and reignite those relationships?
